UTK Facilities Services Planning and Design is overseeing the demolition of the UT Warehouse to make way for a new two-tiered surface parking lot expected to provide over 700 spaces when complete.
June 2025 status update:
- Space Management is working closely with the building’s occupants to identify suitable relocation spaces.
- Affected units include Parking Services, Surplus, Facilities Services, and Athletics.
- Units will be relocating during the month of June for demolition of the UT Warehouse to begin in July.
April 2026 status update:
- 3/9: Mass demolition of building structure completed.
- 3/11 – 3/20 : Electrical panels installed; dock leveler concrete infill completed; area drain installed
Ongoing: Electrical trench work and south storm drain line work began; Jones Brothers Construction

August 2026 status update:
Traffic Signal Now Active at Neyland Drive and Joan Cronan Way
A traffic signal is being installed at the intersection of Neyland Drive and Joan Cronan Way to help manage increased traffic as the new surface parking lot at the former Fleming Warehouse site opens for use. The signal will soon be in operation. Drivers should use caution and follow the signal indications:
- Flashing yellow: Proceed with caution.
- Flashing red: Come to a complete stop before proceeding, just as you would at a stop sign.
Motorists are encouraged to allow extra travel time and remain alert while traveling through the area.
